Blocking Notch-1 resulted in downregulation of NF-kappaB and its target genes (CXCL8, MMP9 and VEGF), which suppressed invasion and angiogenesis in breast cancer [34]; therefore, we would evaluate these targets next in glioma cell lines and in any other experiments where miR-139-5p levels are manipulated. This evidence concerns the gene MMP9 and breast carcinoma.
