These breast cancer patients revealed systemic MYC-associated biochemical shifts, previously described in vitro [9], associated with glutamine utilization over glucose for the synthesis of structural phospholipids, as measured by the ratios (Structural Lipids/Gln) and (Structural Lipids/Hexoses) respectively (Supplementary Figure 1D and 1E). The gene discussed is MYC; the disease is breast carcinoma.
