Other mechanisms controlling complement activation in patients receiving RTX-chemotherapy have been explored but with conflicting results reported when considering the absence of correlation between the complement inhibitors CD46, CD55 and CD59 levels and the RTX clinical outcome in NHL and CLL [18, 63], while blocking the complement regulatory molecules CD55 and CD59 improves RTX efficacy. The gene discussed is CD55; the disease is non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
