Validation in 140 serum samples (n = 84 PC, n = 35 BPH, n = 21 healthy donors) [78] demonstrated a significant increase of Methylcrotonoyl-CoA carboxylase beta chain, mitochondrial, Tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated protein 1, and Inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase II (IMPDH2) in cancer patients when comparing to BPH or healthy controls. The gene discussed is IMPDH2; the disease is benign prostatic hyperplasia.
