Although BAMLET is partially deactivated by the calcium and albumin in blood, we show that increasing the BAMLET dose by a factor of 10 makes it possible to achieve the same level of cytotoxic activity towards mesothelioma cells incubating in FBS-containing medium (containing albumin and calcium) as when these cancer cells are incubated in medium containing no FBS (containing calcium but no albumin). The gene discussed is ALB; the disease is cancer.
