Thus, the use of TPOR agonists represents a major approach for the treatment of thrombocytopenia.28 Among these agonists, nonpeptide agonists of TPOR, such as eltrombopag, butyzamide and NIP‐004, have advantages over peptide agonists in that they are orally bioavailable and are unlikely to induce an immune response.25, 29, 30 Here, we identified hetrombopag, a member of the biarylhydrazone class of compounds, as a novel, orally active TPOR agonist.
