Therefore, it may be reasonable to consider that JAZF1 overexpression could cause a transcriptional abrogation of SREBP-1c promoter by AMPK, which in turn inhibits gene transcription involved in fatty acid and triglyceride synthesis, such as FAS24,25, thus contributing to the ameliorated steatosis in Ad-JAZF1- treated hepatocytes and in the liver of JAZF1-Tg mice [Fig. S3]. This evidence concerns the gene JAZF1 and steatosis.
