HDGFL2 and Plasmodium falciparum malaria: An argument against the diagenetic effect is the absence of HRP2 accompanied by the presence of aldolase with nearly the same rate in the bones of the two different groups buried in two different cemeteries and dated to the same historical period; i.e., findings reflected the spread of non-falciparum malaria in a specific geographical area during a specific era rather than a variation caused by diagenetic degradation of biomolecules.
