HIF-1α immunohistochemistry indicated that HIF-1α mRNA and protein expression in conventional asthmatic mouse and neutrophils-dominant asthmatic mouse lung tissues were greater than that observed in the control group (Fig. 5a), and HIF-1α expression in lung (Fig. 5b, c) and splenic naïve CD4+ T cells (Fig. 5d, e) from the neutrophils-dominant asthma group was greater than in the conventional asthma group.
