SDHB and polycystic ovary syndrome: DHEA-induced PCOS rats showed decreased expression of BAT-specific genes and genes that are involved in the regulation of lipid metabolism, such as Ucp1 and Pparα, medium-chain acyl-coenzyme A (Mcad), Pgc1α, Pgc1β, and Cpt1α genes and reduced expression of the UCP1 protein and other proteins that are involved in the regulation of oxidative phosphorylation such as ATP synthase F1 subunit alpha (ATP5α), ubiquinol-cytochrome c reductase core protein 2 (UQCRC2), and succinate dehydrogenase complex iron sulfur subunit B (SDHB), which decreased heat generation in BAT.
