The efficiency of the antitumor effect of the MLKL-mRNA treatment correlates with the extent of necroptosis-like cell death that is induced in the tumor cells and not with the extent of induced cell death per se, since tBid-mRNA treatment, which induced a comparable degree of cell death as MLKL-mRNA, resulted in very poor antitumor activity.
