[36] studied endogenous levels of mRNA for the various HA synthase and degradation isoforms that were quantitated in 10 different human breast cancer cell lines by using real-time and comparative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).The results determined that highly invasive cell lines preferentially expressed the HAS2 and hyaluronidase-2 (Hyal-2) isoforms, while less invasive cells expressed HAS3 and hyaluronidase-3 (Hyal-3).
