In a phase III trial of first-line treatment in ALK (Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase) Positive East Asian NSCLC with an ALK translocation or inversion, crizotinib was found to improve progression free survival (median 11.1 months), as compared to chemotherapy (median 6.8 months) [38] which led to its rapid FDA approval for ALK positive disease. This evidence concerns the gene ALK and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
