DUSP22 and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease: Studies on the hippocampus of patients with Alzheimer’s disease have linked promoter hypermethylation of DUSP22 to changes in TAU phosphorylation,25 which in turn has been connected to nutritional deprivation.26 A further link between DUSP22 methylation and nutrition is supported by trial data showing that low DUSP22 DNA methylation at baseline predicted high weight loss in response to a dietary intervention.27
