During infection with the C. albicans wild-type strain, both Bcl10−/− and Malt1−/− BMDMs had significantly reduced levels of host cell death compared with BMDMs obtained from the corresponding heterozygous littermates, demonstrating that signaling through Bcl10 and Malt1 is required for host cell death in response to C. albicans (Fig. 6b; see also Fig. S5b). Here, MALT1 is linked to infection.
