Induces significant arrest of sub-G1 phase on HL-60 and MCF-7 cells. In vivo, it inhibits tumor growth at doses of 20 and 50 mg Kg−1 in tumor-bearing BALB/c mice. Moreover, it suppresses ascitic sarcoma 180 tumor growth and prolongs the lifespan of the tumor-bearing mice by ~30–40%. H3-a1 compound also increases the tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) level in mouse serum. The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is neoplasm.
