CDK4 and neoplasm: Induces cell cycle arrest at G1 and sub-G1 phases, leading cells to undergo apoptosis. Reduces the expressions of Cyclin-D1, Cyclin-E, Cyclin-dependent kinase (Cdk)2 and Cdk4. It is also observed increases in Bak, Caspase-9 and p53 expressions and a decrease in Bcl-xl expression. In vivo elatol treatment reduces tumor growth on C57Bl6 mice.
