To date, only one report has suggested a strong impact of Fas survival signaling on EGFR pathway in cancer based on the observation that the downregulation of Fas pathway through RNA interference conferred the dependence of lung cancer cells on mutant EGFR oncogene, increasing their sensitivity to the EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor, erlotinib20. The gene discussed is EGFR; the disease is lung carcinoma.
