Multivariable analysis showed that sarcopenia was an independent prognostic factor for a shorter OS (hazard ratio [HR], 1.51; 95% CI, 1.04−2.18; p = 0.029), along with no response to chemotherapy (HR, 2.47; 95% CI, 1.69−3.61, p < 0.001), no second-line chemotherapy (HR, 2.43; 95% CI, 1.64−3.59, p < 0.001), metastatic sites ≥ 3 (HR, 2.31; 95% CI, 1.49−3.60; p < 0.001), and low serum albumin level (HR, 1.50; 95% CI, 1.03−2.19; p = 0.033). The gene discussed is ALB; the disease is sarcopenia.
