AKR1B10 and hepatocellular carcinoma: Those findings are in line with other studies in which high expression levels of AKR1B10 have been linked to HCC while expression levels in near-tumor tissues, normal tissues, and even benign liver lesions showed minimal to no expression levels of the gene, which makes AKR1B10 a potential biomarker for the diagnosis of HCC [27,28,50].
