HLA-B alleles have been implicated in multiple serious drug-induced adverse events, including HLA-B∗57:01 in abacavir-induced hypersensitivity syndrome, HLA-B∗58:01 in allopurinol-induced serious cutaneous ADRs, and HLA-B∗15:02 in carbamazepine-induced Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS)/toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) [6, 7, 18]. Here, HLA-B is linked to Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
