ACE and hypertensive disorder: In spite of new and new drug discoveries a large scale study designed to compare the effectiveness of thiazide diuretic (TD), ACE inhibitors, ARBs and calcium channel blocker (CCB) monotherapies for the treatment of hypertension on 565,009 patients the authors found that patients who took TDs experienced a lower risk of clinical events compared with patients who took ACE inhibitors, ARBs and CCBs.
