PTEN and Stroke: The current paper used a recently developed specific PTEN inhibitor, SF1670,29 for inhibiting PTEN pathway.30,31 Li et al showed that pretreatment with SF1670 in nanomolar concentration enhances PIP3 signaling in transplanted neutrophils.29 In the current study, for the first time, we examined the effects of pretreatment with high dose (10 μM) of SF1670 for complete inhibition of phosphatase activity of PTEN against I/R injury in oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) as an in vitro stroke-like model in PC12 cultured cells.
