The TGF-β may contribute to immunopathogenesis of allergic asthma through recruitment of leukocytes such as macrophages and granulocytes into bronchial airways (27, 28), induction of the polarization of naïve CD4+ T-cells into effector inflammatory Th17- and Th9-cells (28), triggering of remodeling processes, and induction of the expression of some matrix metalloproteinases (29). Here, CD4 is linked to allergic asthma.
