To investigate whether STAT3 signaling suppression could abolish the stemness properties of CRC cells, the cytotoxic effects of three SHP-1 agonists including regorafenib35, SC-4336, and SC-7837 (their chemical structures are shown in Supplementary Fig. 1) on both HCT-116 and HT-29 cells were evaluated by MTT assays after they were treated with varying doses of the drugs for 48 h. This evidence concerns the gene STAT3 and colorectal carcinoma.
