AGFG1 and synucleinopathy: In total, our study emphasizes the importance of membrane binding for the internalization of aSyn and highlights the fundamental role of Rab proteins in the internalization, sorting, and processing of aSyn, suggesting that targeting specific Rab proteins and/or specific intracellular trafficking components might prove to be valuable targets for modulating the spreading of aSyn pathology and, consequently, disease progression in PD and other synucleinopathies.
