Garcia and colleagues showed that amniotic fluid stem cells have the potential to cleave monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (CCL2), which results in the inhibition of parenchymal remodelling and the development of pulmonary fibrosis even when they have been administered at the same moment or 14 days after BLM (Figure 3) [26]. Here, CCL2 is linked to pulmonary fibrosis.
