A 1-SD increase in log-transformed hsTnT was associated with a higher risk of incident HF after adjusting for classic risk factors (hazard ratio [HR] 1.58, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.42–1.77) and after additional adjustment for N-terminal pro–B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP; HR 1.34, 95% CI 1.19–1.52). The gene discussed is NPPB; the disease is hydrops fetalis.
