INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus: Støa et al. [15] found that people with T2D who performed a supervised HIIT program at an intensity of 85–95% of their maximal heart rate with 52% VO2peak interval experienced a significant increase in VO2peak and a reduction in hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), body weight, and body mass index (BMI) compared with those who performed moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT), though no significant changes in insulin resistance or blood lipid levels were found.
