GABRA2 and hyperekplexia: It is likely that the hyperekplexia is linked to CB interaction with glycine receptors15, however, the remaining symptoms may be linked to dysfunctions at the AIS due to mislocalization of α2-containing GABAARs. Gabra2–1 mice do not display hyperekplexia, but have increased seizure susceptibility, early mortality, and anxiety, drawing several parallels.
