A first study analyzed the development and function of Treg specific for myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG), a minor component of the myelin sheath that is targeted by T cells and autoantibodies in autoimmune diseases of the central nervous system (CNS) such as multiple sclerosis and its animal model experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) (32). This evidence concerns the gene MOG and multiple sclerosis.
