GRAMD1B and Papule: Our results show that AmB accumulation in CL-infected skin is (i) Leishmania species specific (greater in L. major than in L. mexicana lesions) (ii) disease stage specific (papule > initial nodule > established nodule > healthy skin), and (iii) a plausible cause of the superior in vivo efficacy of LAmB against L. major compared to that against L. mexicana.
