CELF6 and autism spectrum disorder: Impact of antidepressant exposure was assessed in mice with a genetically vulnerable background for autism spectrum disorders (i.e. Celf6-/- mice), and heterozygous and wild-type littermates, allowing the authors: 1) to assess whether antidepressant exposure alone is sufficient to induce long-term behavioral alterations, and 2) to test whether antidepressant exposure in a vulnerable background could act synergistically and potentiate ASD phenotype.
