Although there is a report that POU5F1B expression is positively correlated with the parent gene POU5F1 in prostate cancer [44], POU5F1B promotes angiogenesis and cell proliferation and inhibits apoptosis in gastric cancer [43], suggesting that POU5F1B-induced tumorigenesis may not be through regulation of its parent gene, instead directly or indirectly regulate genes related to angiogenesis or cell proliferation. The gene discussed is POU5F1B; the disease is prostate carcinoma.
