The AMPK pathway regulates both iodide and glucose uptake in normal thyroid cells, and it is highly activated in papillary thyroid carcinomas.27 The Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway analysis of hypomethylation/high‐expression genes revealed that hypomethylated genes were involved in the pyrimidine metabolism and TGF‐β signaling pathway. Here, TGFB1 is linked to differentiated thyroid carcinoma.
