To the best of our knowledge, hepatic galactose/N-acetylglucosamine receptor, also known as asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGPR), is specifically exposed on the surface of hepatoma cells with a considerably high amount (Rigopoulou et al., 2012; Lepenies et al., 2013). The gene discussed is ASGR1; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
