Although both FTO and ALKBH5 have no effect on AML patients' survival rates (Vu et al., 2017), in certain subtypes of AML, such as MLL-rearranged AML, acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), t(11q23) and t(15;17) AMLs, FTO is highly expressed.
