Consistent with our observations, some literatures indicated that lipophilic diterpenoid quinones and hydrophilic phenolic acids, two types of predominant bioactive ingredients of SMRR, possessed evident Nrf2-inducing properties and inhibited the pathogenesis of diseases, exemplified by Alzheimer's disease [23], cardiovascular diseases [24, 25], and hepatic injury [26]. Here, NFE2L2 is linked to cardiovascular disorder.
