Attempts at improving the outcome of neonatal sepsis through immune enhancing therapies including granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), granulocyte transfusions, and intravenous immunoglobulins have only yielded a limited benefit (12–14). This evidence concerns the gene CSF2 and Neonatal sepsis.
