Quercetin induces extensive autophagy in epithelial cancer cells, which led to cell cycle arrest and induction of apoptosis34, etc. Our results indicate that IH, GN, and Aca could be autophagic inducers that induce autophagosome accumulation in breast cancer cells based on the following findings: First, treating cells with these flavonoids resulted in a marked increase in EGFP-LC3 puncta formation and accumulation of LC3B-II in breast cancer cells.
