Interestingly, we found that the mean age for the onset of breast cancer in the BRCA1 methylation-positive patients was 40.3 ± 6.4 (95%CI 37.1–43.4) years compared to 50.9 ± 12.7 (95%CI 41.8–60) years for methylated MGMT and 56 ± 14.1(95%CI 33.8–78.7) years for both BRCA1/MGMT-methylated patients (p = 0.0044). The gene discussed is BRCA1; the disease is breast cancer.
