Therapy of exudative AMD with antivascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) intravitreal injections, which include Bevacizumab (Avastin; Genentech, San Francisco, CA, USA), Ranibizumab (Lucentis, Novartis International AG, Basel, Switzerland), and Aflibercept (Eylea; Regeneron, Tarrytown, NY, USA) has evolved to a widespread and effective treatment in the last years, allowing prevention of vision loss and the possibility for vision improvement with regular use of those agents over 2 years [5–8]. Here, VEGFA is linked to age-related macular degeneration.
