In primary neuron cultures derived from Tg2576 mouse embryos, a constitutively active form of FOXO3a promotes AD amyloid-β peptide (Aβ) levels by inhibiting non-amyloidogenic α-secretase activity, which indicates the existence of an inverse correlation between FOXO3a activity and Q Aβ amyloidosis [74]. This evidence concerns the gene FOXO3 and Alzheimer disease.
