Psoriasis is a common dermatological disease with prevalence up to 2.9% throughout the world,[13] while Taiwan’s prevalence is nearly 0.3% which reaches the average of non-Caucasian population.[13] According to recent research, DED is associated with elevated IL and TNF levels in tear film and various systemic inflammatory diseases, including psoriasis.[14, 15] The immune imbalance and tear film instability in concurrent psoriasis and DED may cause decreased corneal sensitivity and ocular surface damage,[16–18] which may increase the likelihood of keratopathy. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and psoriasis.
