Remarkably, on day 3 post-infection, we noted a highly significant positive correlation (p≤0.01, R2 = 0.96, Pearson r correlation) between the proportion of CD11bhighCD14+F4/80+ macrophages that express TCRβ and parasite burden in individual mice (Fig 9); a smaller percentage of macrophages were TCRβ+CD3ε− in mice with low parasitemia compared to mice with high parasitemia. The gene discussed is CD3E; the disease is parasitic infectious disease.
