Interestingly, optimal expression of TCRβ is associated with expression of both CD14 and F4/80 on CD11bhigh cells with maximal differences observed on day 4 post-infection; on day 4 post-infection, the percentage of CD11bhighCD14+F4/80+ that were TCRβ+CD3ε− was 11.1 fold higher (p<0.0001, Mann Whitney U test) than CD11bhighcells, 3.3 fold higher (p<0.0001, Mann Whitney U test) than CD11bhighCD14+ cells, and 2.3 fold higher (p<0.0001, Mann Whitney U test) than CD11bhighF4/80+ cells. Here, CD14 is linked to infection.
