CDK4 and cancer: Our data showed that expression of genes involved in the P53 pathway such as the B cell lymphoma 2 (bcl22) oncogene, Proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) or cell cycle genes such as CDK4, cyclin E, and Rb genes that are normally up-regulated in cancer cells, were downregulated in response to the A. graveolens extract, suggesting that P53 checkpoint were also overcome by treatment with A. graveolens extract.
