Our data showed that expression of genes involved in the P53 pathway such as the B cell lymphoma 2 (bcl22) oncogene, Proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) or cell cycle genes such as CDK4, cyclin E, and Rb genes that are normally up-regulated in cancer cells, were downregulated in response to the A. graveolens extract, suggesting that P53 checkpoint were also overcome by treatment with A. graveolens extract. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and cancer.
