In the case of gene expression signatures in smoking versus never smoking for stage 1 HNSCC patients, using the PantherDB online tool we observed an important number of representative transcripts that are responsible for biological adhesion, including for early stages (DLL3, CDH17, TINAGL1, STRC, PCDHAC2, PCDHB13, TNR, PCDHGB6, PCDHGA9, PLXNB3). Here, PCDHGA9 is linked to head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
