CD8A and temporal arteritis: Recently, Lassaunière et al. showed that Black individuals have significantly reduced proportions of FCGR3A natural killer cells (95.2% vs. 96.9%) and CD8+ T lymphocytes (9.6% vs. 11.7%) compared to Caucasians [19], and this may serve as a predictive marker for a high-expressing FCGR3A phenotype in Caucasians, the population most affected by GCA.
