Torres et al. [102] reported that the derivative of quercetin THDF (5,7,3′-trihydroxy-3,4′-dimethoxyflavone) inhibits cell proliferation and induces apoptosis in human leukemia cells (HL-60 and U937) by a disruption of tubulin polymerization and an activation of aSMase-dependent generation of Cer correlated with cell death (Figure 5C). This evidence concerns the gene CBLN1 and leukemia.
