Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) are now a standard first-line therapy for patients with advanced non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) positive for activating EGFR mutations, with these drugs also being efficacious and tolerable even in individuals with a poor Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status (PS) associated with disease progression [3].
