CXCL8 and psychiatric disorder: Interestingly, we find no significant correlations between maternal inflammatory biomarkers and shorter length of gestation, while two previous studies did: Blair et al. (2015) found a negative correlation between IL-8 (at 19–30 weeks gestation) and length of gestation, although this finding was only apparent in African American (n = 79), not European American women; and Coussons-Read et al. (2012) found a negative correlation between both IL-6 and TNFα (at 28–30 weeks gestation) and length of gestation in 173 mostly Hispanic women, who were free from psychiatric disorder.
